IMPLANTIEREN AND HTA RINGVORLESUNG

IMPLANTIEREN AND HTA RINGVORLESUNG are happy to welcome for their upcoming 3rd session: Katherine Ball On Learning and Infrastructures Lecture  Thursday 27. June
Lecture 15-16:00, q&a 16-16:30
Where? Prozorcite IX, Mertonstrasse 31, Campus Bockenheim

In this lecture, Katherine will talk about water infrastructure systems they have worked on, for filtering rainwater, greywater, and blackwater. These filters have been made with wetland plants, mushroom mycelium, biofilms inhabiting sand habitats, activated carbon, UV light, membranes, and moving bed reactors. Katherine will discuss greywater systems at Floating University Berlin which is located in a polluted wastewater retention basin; a rainwater to drinking water system at the art center Timelab in Gent; filtering blackwater in a polluted lake in Indiana, USA; and living for a year without running water in Copenhagen.

Katherine will also talk about experimental water practices for reducing how much water we use, reclassifying and sorting wastewater into a rainbow of shades rather than a binary of clean vs. dirty water, and helping people deepen their relationships with water.

Technology is not the only answer to our challenges with water, what’s missing is our relationship with water—how can we transform how we interact with water?
